API Spironolactone /antisterone/aldactone
1. Spironolactone is a steroid and is a potent endogenous salt corticosteroid aldosterone.
2. Spironolactone has a similar chemical structure to aldosterone, and competes with aldosterone for binding to aldosterone receptors in the epithelial cells of the cortical segments of the distal convoluted tubules and collecting ducts, thereby inhibiting the effect of aldosterone on K-Na exchange. Increase the discharge of Na and Cl, play a diuretic role, and K is retained
3. The drug has a weak diuretic effect, which is slow and long lasting.
After a period of continuous administration, its diuretic effect gradually weakens. It also has anti-androgenic activity, which can selectively destroy the testicular and adrenal microsomal cytochrome P450, thereby inhibiting the production of androgen by the gonads, and competing with the dihydrotestosterone at the target tissue to reduce the stimulation of the sebaceous glands by androgens.
